San Juan Capistrano

About San Juan Capistrano

The city was created around Mission San Juan Capistrano, and many of the homes and developments resemble the Spanish architecture that composes the historic building. It is home to the widest variety of homes in Orange County, including those built prior to 1900 in its central district (some being adobes from the 18th century). San Juan Capistrano formerly hosted a population of cliff swallows that migrate each year from Argentina to the Mission San Juan Capistrano – the focus of its annual Swallow’s Day Fiesta and Parade every March.

Downtown San Juan Capistrano is home to the Pacific Surfliner train station, a variety of shops, salons, event venues, bars and restaurants. A new boutique luxury hotel is set to open in 2017.
